Beanus

Beanus (from French bec jaune = yellow beak in the sense of beginner) is an older student who has not yet gone to university and is accordingly "uncouth". For immatriculatio or entry into the university, a depositio beanismi , a discarding of rude , is required. The word is often explained as an acrostic B eanus E st A nimal N esciens V itam S tudiosorum (Beanus is an (animal) being who has no idea about the life of the students ).
