Beate Bille

Beate Karoline Bille (born November 17, 1976 in Denmark ) is a Danish actress .

Even before starting her studies in 2000, she starred in films such as Engel der Finsternis (1998) and The Art of Success (1999). In 2004 she graduated from the Statens Teaterskole in Copenhagen . She had her first leading role in Till Franzens multi-award-winning magical-realistic drama The Blue Border . There she played alongside Hanna Schygulla, Dominique Horwitz and Antoine Monot. During her graduation, she was offered a leading role in the film Homicide - In the Vicious Cycle of Violence . The film also won several awards.

She is the daughter of the actor Joen Bille and the art historian Bente Scavenius, who wrote the script for Bente og Borum - billedligt talt and appeared in it herself. She is a descendant of the astronomer Tycho Brahe and great-great-granddaughter of the writer Henrik Ibsen . In 2006 she received the Shooting Star .
