Beatriz Sánchez (born December 24, 1970 in Viña del Mar ) is a Chilean journalist and politician of the Frente Amplio . She ran for the Chilean presidency in 2017 .

Beatriz Sánchez studied politics and history at the Universidad de Concepción . From 1990 worked for various media, often also public radio and television in Chile.

Sánchez represents the new Chilean left. You and the Frente Amplio want to nationalize the mining of Chilean mineral resources, such as copper and other resources, as well as the important water companies. Free education and health care for all Chileans are further goals.
