The Beaver Hill Lake is a lake in the Canadian province of Alberta .
The 139 km² lake is located 70 km east of Edmonton in Counties Beaver and Lamont . The Beaver Hill Creek drains the lake periodically to North Saskatchewan River . The lake and its surroundings form an important resting place for migratory birds . Beaverhill Lake has been protected as a wetland under the Ramsar Convention since 1987 . Like many other prairie lakes, the lake has lost water depth and area in recent years (1999–2009).
