Treatise Bechorot מַסֶּכֶת בְּכוֹרוֹת(“Firstborns”) is a treatise from the Mishnah in the order of Kodaschim.

The treatise has 9 chapters and deals with provisions on the delivery of the (male) firstborns of cattle and humans. A father has to pay a ransom for his firstborn son to a kohen ( Pidjon ha-Ben ; 'release of the son'). The male firstborn of a cattle, sheep or goat must be given to a kohen. The male firstborn of a donkey must be triggered by a lamb. An exception to this is "indefinite or double-sex ". Also excluded are cases "when a sin has been committed with him". That is, if it has mated a person or has been mated by him.
