Beck Fastener Group is an international company in the field of fastening technology based in Mauerkirchen in Upper Austria . The business activities include the areas of nails, nail technology and staples for all areas. The family business employs around 400 people in five countries.
history
In 1904 Karl Beck founded a printing company in Wildstein an der Eger (today's Skalná , Czech Republic ). In the early years only clips were produced for the company's own company. In the 1930s, son Raimund Beck took over management of the company and staple production began.
Due to the Second World War and the expulsion of the Sudeten Germans, Beck was unable to return to the Czech Republic. So he decided to start production in Germany. First in a small workshop in Thalheim, before he finally settled in Waldkraiburg in 1949 . In 1954 the company already comprised 700 m² of operating and storage space and had a workforce of 41 people, almost exclusively Sudeten Germans who were displaced from their homes.
In 1964 the production of collated nails began.
Since Germany was not a member of the EFTA at that time , Beck looked for a suitable location for a branch in nearby Austria and found it in Mauerkirchen in the Innviertel .
In 1976, his son Günther Beck took over management of the company. The Beck company expanded its product range through numerous acquisitions of companies in Italy and the USA and can now offer shooting devices including staples and nails (system provider). In 2014, the Waldkraiburg location was closed and integrated into the Mauerkirchen location. Today the 250 employees at the Mauerkirchen location produce around 250,000 nails and 100,000 staples a day.
