Beckton Park Station

Beckton Park is a Docklands Light Railway (DLR) station in the London Borough of Newham . It is in the Travelcard tariff zone 3 on the Royal Albert Way in the Beckton district . The Royal Albert Dock is on the south side .

The station was opened on March 28, 1994, along with the branch line towards Beckton . During the heyday of Docklands, there was a train station called Central at almost the same location . It was built on August 3, 1880 by the Eastern Counties and Thames Junction Railway and had to be closed on September 8, 1940 due to irreparable aerial bomb damage on the line.

Like Cyprus , the Beckton Park station has an unusual design. In this section, the DLR route runs on the median of a multi-lane, directionally separated road. The station is within a large roundabout . Shortly before that, the road climbs slightly while the railway line slopes slightly. As a result, the station is in a cut under the elevated roundabout. Pedestrian access is on the level in between.
