Beczka

Beczka was a Polish measure of volume and is considered a barrel. The measure was not uniform.

In the former Grand Duchy of Lithuania the dimensions were:

  • Salt measure : 1 Beczka = 54 Garniec = 7682.5122 Parisian cubic inches = 152.4528 liters
  • 1 Beczka = 4 Cwierce / Quarter = 8 Osmi / Eighth = 16 Szestnastki = 72 Garcy (large) = 144 Garcy (small) = 20494.7 Parisian cubic inches = 406.5408 liters
  • Liquid measure: 1 Beczka = 10 Garniec (large) = 20 Garniec (small) (little in use)
    • 1 Garniec (small) = 142.3243 Parisian cubic inches = 2.8232 liters (Schenkgarniec)
