The E.620 of Ferrovie Nord Milano are a series of electric locomotives that were built in 1984–1985. After the E.600 and the E.610, they represent the third generation of FNM electric locomotives.

history

At the end of the 1970s, the Ferrovie Nord Milano vehicle fleet was outdated and no longer corresponded to the increased traffic in the rail network.

The FNM therefore took part in the design of the Ferrovie dello Stato for a new electronic locomotive, the E.633 , and in 1979 developed a smaller version of it, which was later revised several times.

The locomotives were ordered in 1981. The first piece was delivered in November 1984. Manufacturer of the box was Ansaldo , the bogies were of Fiat from diesel locomotives D.445 developed the FS; the electrical equipment came from TIBB .

At the end of 2009 only two pieces remained in use.

Paintwork

The E.620 were delivered in the then new FNM livery, white and yellow. From 1996 they got the so-called “regional paintwork”, in the colors of the Lombardy region , white, light green and light blue.
