The E.610 of Ferrovie Nord Milano , a number of electric locomotives that were built 1949th

history

After the Second World War , electric rail operations developed on the Ferrovie Nord Milano rail network . The company therefore decided to have a new series of electric locomotives built to relieve the existing E.600 series machines .

The new series was created in 1949 in four copies, which were built by the Milanese machine manufacturer Breda . The appearance of the locomotives was reminiscent of the contemporary E.424 of the Ferrovie dello Stato .

The electrical equipment of the E.610 was designed by the Compagnia Generale di Elettricità (CGE) and was considered to be the development of one of the E.600 .

The E.610 were used until the timetable change on December 12, 2010. They have been retired since then.

Paintwork

The E.610 were delivered in a maroon-Isabel-colored (" castano-Isabella ") paint job , analogous to the contemporary vehicles of the Ferrovie dello Stato .

From 1982 the machines were given the new FNM paintwork, white and yellow. From 1994 they were given the so-called "regional paintwork", in the colors of the Lombardy region , white, light green and light blue.
