Residential building Beethovenallee 33 (2012)

The Beethovenallee 33 building is a residential building in Bad Godesberg , a district of Bonn , which was built around 1889. It is located in the district of Godesberg-Villenviertel opposite the square-like confluence of Denglerstraße and Hensstraße. The house stands as a monument under monument protection .

history

The house was built by master bricklayer Johann Pohl from Plittersdorf as one of the first buildings in the “second” Godesberg villa district on the Blumerichsweg , which was laid out in 1878 , an old road connection from Godesberg to Plittersdorf . As the owner of almost all the properties on this side of the street and some on the other, he was responsible for building a large part of the houses on today's Beethovenallee. From 1899 the house was the seat of a roofing company, for which a rear extension was built in 1905 and which also included the Beethovenallee 35 property on a total of 1,800 m². The company had to cease operations on June 4, 2016 at the end of 2016 as a result of flooding caused by the Godesberg Brook . The house is still used commercially.

The building was entered in the city of Bonn's list of monuments on September 7, 2000.

architecture

The building is a two-storey eaves brick building in two window axes - the right one is designed as a twin axis - with a balcony, a tile-roofed gable roof and a side entrance. He is horizontally through a floor cornice divided. The door and window openings are single- and double-leaf, high rectangular and have horizontal lintels and projecting sills in stone . The windows and the balcony door with skylight have been renewed in their original form. The single-leaf entrance door is located in the right axis of the right-hand gable side and is original with glazing, decorative grille and skylight. The balcony in front of the right axis of the eaves side has an original lattice balustrade with floral ornaments, which, like the entrance door, also in typical Art Nouveau forms, could have come from the time of the rear extension in 1905. The original floor plan of the building has largely been preserved. The front yard zone is except for their renewed lattice fence as part of the property listed. It is the only remaining exposed brick building of this type on the street.
