Mooring knot

Mooring knot (also known as fastening knot ) is the name for a group of knots with which ropes are attached to posts, poles, cables or fittings such as rings and cleats . They are important in seamanship , in fishing , but also for lifting, pulling and carrying loads.

Common mooring knots are, for example, the loom loop (on a post), the Roringstek (on a ring) or the headbeat (on a cleat).
