Behavior Interactive , sometimes also known as Artificial Mind and Movement ( A2M ), is a Canadian computer game development company . It was founded in Montreal in 1992 and specializes in the production of 2D and 3D action / adventure games for game consoles and PC .

history

The company's history goes back to the early 1990s. In 1992 Rémi Racine founded the company Megatoon Entertainment Group in Québec and in 1994 the company Multimedia Interactive (MMI) together with partners in Montreal. In 1996 Racine sold the company to the media group Malofilm Communications, later Behavior Communications. In 1997 MMI and Megatoon merged to become Behavior Interactive. In 1999 Racine bought back the company with the support of some investors and merged the company's activities in Montreal. As a result of the takeover, however, the company's name also had to be changed. In 2000 the company was renamed Artificial Mind & Movement or A2M for short. The company became known above all for licensing work and porting third-party games to other platforms. Between 2006 and 2008, the company was listed in both the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 and Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies. In 2008 the company acquired the game manufacturer Wanako Games in Chile . In 2010 the company renamed itself Behavior Interactive again, as the company wanted to concentrate more on in-house productions after the notable successes of Wet and Naughty Bear and was looking for a more memorable name. The acronym A2M also referred to a sexual practice in everyday language. Since the old name was meanwhile available again, it was decided to rename it.

The company generated a profit of US $ 30 million in 2013 and employs more than 200 people at its two locations in Montreal and Santiago de Chile . In the same year Marc Petit was appointed co-CEO alongside company founder Racine.
