The road , the medical Ghost Church in the city 's Old Town in Stralsund combines the waterway at the mouth of the Frankenstraße with the road at the Long Wall . The street is part of the core area of ​​the UNESCO World Heritage Historic Old Towns Stralsund and Wismar .

It got its name from the adjoining Heilgeistkirche , which belongs to the Heilgeisthospital . The Heilgeistkirche and Heilgeisthospital are under monument protection (see also list of architectural monuments in Stralsund ).
