Confessional in Fontains

The confessional in the church of St-Jacques-le-Majeur in Fontains , a French commune in the Seine-et-Marne department in the Île-de-France region , was created in the 18th century. In 1955, the confessional was added to the list of architectural monuments in France as a monument historique .

The wooden confessional, which was extensively restored in the 1970s, stands on the western wall of the St-Hubert chapel. The carving in the form of a tree in the upper part of the door is remarkable.
