An accessory knife is a small knife or other tool ( awl ) that is used in various, mainly larger, hunting knives such as hunting knives and practices , Japanese swords ( katana , wakizashi ) and knives ( tantō ). Usually a smaller second sheath (double sheath) is attached to the sheaths . This smaller knife is mostly used for more "filigree" work such as skinning , weaving or the like. See: woad cutlery . In the Katzbalger , which was often used during the Thirty Years' War , the two sides were often used to hold the cutlery (fork and knife).
