Fitting mark
A fitting mark , also known as a mark, is a mark stamped into the blade that serves several purposes. It is mainly found on bladed weapons such as: sword , dagger , lance , rapier , but also on other weapons such as armor and metal equipment.
Versions
A distinction is made between the following brands:
- figurative marks,
- Word or letter marks and
- combined marks consisting of figurative and word or letter marks.
use
According to their use, a distinction is made between:
- Copyright marks
- private or personal master marks.
- Factory brands
- Origin or guild marks
- Dealer or private label
- Quality marks or quality marks (so-called inspection marks, which should not be confused with acceptance or control stamps)
