Alie and Lilya Bekirova (born November 10, 1982 in Bekobod , Uzbek SSR ) are two Uzbek violinists who are also better known as soloists, but as "Bekirova twins" and "violin twins" .

Life

They received their first professional training when they were seven. At the age of eleven they gave their first solo appearances in their home country and played a. a. with the National Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan. In 1995 they came to Nathan Mendelssohn at the "Uspensky School" in Tashkent, the music high school for musically gifted students, which is attached to the Tashkent State Conservatory. At the age of 16 (1998) the twins won the special “President's Prize” at the “Yehudi Menuhin International Competition For Young Violinists” in Boulogne-sur-Mer (France).

Since then, the Bekirova twins have had numerous appearances with large orchestras or chamber music ensembles as well as solo concerts in Germany, Austria, Poland, Ukraine, Spain and Switzerland. Since 2005 they have been giving concerts with the Russian pianist Elena Bobrovskich. In 2007 the trio received a scholarship from the “Friedrich Jürgen Sellheim Society for the Promotion of Young Artists”.

Both artists have been completing their training at the Hanover University of Music and Theater since 2000 .

  • 2005 - 2nd prize at the international competition for violin and orchestra "Valsesia Musica" (Italy)
  • 2005 - 3rd prize at the "Michelangelo Abbado Competition" in Milan (Italy)
