The Belemnite Valley (English for Belemnitental ) is a valley on the east coast of the West Antarctic Alexander I Island . It is 1.3 km northwest of Fossil Bluff and is bounded to the north by the Eros Glacier . The valley, which is largely free of ice and snow, is characterized by a central meltwater flow.
In scientific reports of the 1960s it is named as Hollow Valley (English for empty valley ) and to this day temporarily as Happy Valley (English for happy valley ). The name given here was given to the valley on April 23, 1998 by the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee after the Belemnites that were found here.
