Paxtaobod is a city (shahar) in the Uzbek province of Andijon in the Ferghana Valley and the capital of the district of the same name .

The city is located about 20 km northeast of the provincial capital Andijon near the border with Kyrgyzstan . In it is the terminus of a branch line from Andijon of the Uzbek Railways ( Oʻzbekiston Temir Yoʻllari ). The Karaüngkür flows through the city, the Qoradaryo flows past south of the city .

In 1975 Paxtaobod received city status. According to the 1989 population census, the city had 18,991 inhabitants, according to a calculation for 2010 the population was 27,062.
