The Belfast Gazette

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Belfast Gazette is one of three British government gazettes . Its first edition appeared on June 7, 1921. Previously, the official notices for Ireland were distributed via the Dublin Gazette . With the emergence of the Irish Free State , an independent publication medium for Northern Ireland became necessary. The Republic of Ireland has its own legal gazette, Iris Oifigiúil (Official Journal). Published by the Stationery Office , the Belfast Gazette is now published once a week on Fridays. Among other things, reports on legislative proposals, company insolvency and government finances are published. In contrast to the London or Edinburgh Gazette , the Belfast Gazette only publishes reports relating to Northern Ireland.
