Belgian School Frankenforst
The Belgian School Frankenforst is located at Taubenstraße 11/13 in the Frankenforst district of Bergisch Gladbach in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis .
history
After the Second World War , the families of the Belgian occupying forces also came to Bergisch Gladbach. Many houses were built for them in Frankenforst. A school was built for them on Taubenstrasse so that the children could go to school.
When the last Belgian armed forces withdrew around 2000, the school initially remained empty and was renovated. In 2006 the Catholic primary school, which had been located on Fasanenstrasse until then, moved to Taubenstrasse. The horseshoe-shaped building was particularly suitable as an open all-day school . As such, the school continues to operate to this day.
