The Bella Center is Scandinavia 's largest exhibition and conference center. It is located in the Ørestad district of the Danish capital Copenhagen , between the city center and Copenhagen Airport . The original Bella Center was planned by Erik Møller and opened in 1965. Between 1973 and 1975 the new building took place at the current location. The complex was expanded in both 2000 and 2009/10; the total area of ​​the interior is now 121,800 square meters , with up to 20,000 people in the house at the same time. The most striking buildings are the two 23-storey towers of the Bella Sky Hotel .

The original center was renamed “Grøndal Centret” in 1975 and has been used as a sports facility ever since.
