Benjamin Day (born December 11, 1978 in Corinda ) is an Australian cyclist .

Career

After Day won an individual time trial in the Polish stage race Baltyk-Karkonosze-Tour in 2001, he began his international career with the Polish cycling team Ambra-Obuwie-SNC Odziez . In the following years he changed teams several times and developed into a successful time trial: In 2003 he became Australian champion in the individual time trial and at the 2006 Commonwealth Games , Day won the silver medal in this discipline in the time trial behind his compatriot Nathan O'Neill . He won sections of international stage races primarily in the time trial, including the Tour de Beauce in 2007 and 2010, where he also celebrated overall victory. He also won the Canadian Chrono Gatineau time trial in 2010 .
