Ben van Oosten

Ben van Oosten (* 1955 in The Hague ) is a Dutch organist and university professor .

Oosten studied organ and piano in Amsterdam and Paris. He teaches as a professor at the Rotterdam Conservatory . The main focus of his artistic activity is symphonic organ music. His recordings of sound documents have been awarded several record awards, including the German Record Critics' Prize and the Diapason d'or . For his services to French organ music, he was appointed Chevalier dans l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French government . He works as titular organist at the Grote Kerk in The Hague.

Ben van Oosten built - under the guidance of the organ builder Van den Heuvel - a house organ with 16 registers on three manuals and a pedal.
