Benalu is a French manufacturer of semi-trailers and trailers for use in road haulage and agriculture . The company was the first provider worldwide to introduce lightweight trailers made entirely of aluminum and is the market leader in this product segment . The Bennes Marrel , Maisonneuve and Mega brands also belong to the corporate group of the same name . The holding company Arcole Industries , established in 2006 and based in Paris, is the general owner .

history

The company was founded in 1967 by the two engineers Hubert Pora and Dominique Bonduelle. As early as 1970, the specially developed commercial vehicles began to be exported abroad. In 1974 one merged with the companies Hydraulique Artois and Somevi . In 1988, the French competitor Fruehauf, now part of the Polish Wielton Group, acquired the full shares in the company.

In 2000 there was another merger with General Trailers and Blond Baudouin . The company was acquired by the Caravelle group of companies three years later, and in 2006 it was renamed a stock corporation. 2010 the company acquired the French competitor Bennes Marrel , the Polish manufacturer Mega , which has also been active in Germany since 2019, took place again in 2017.
