Benedetta Emilia Agricola
Benedetta Emilia Agricola , née Benedetta Molteni , also Benedetta Emilia Agricola-Molteni (* 1722 in Modena , † 1780 in Berlin ) was an Italian opera singer with a soprano voice in Berlin in the 18th century.
Life
Agricola was a student of Nicola Antonio Porpora , Johann Adolph Hasse and Felice Salimbeni .
In 1743 she made her debut in Berlin with Carl Heinrich Graun's opera “Caesar and Cleopatra”. She was a member of the Berlin Italian Opera for a long time. She had earned an excellent reputation here as a singer. From 1748 she became the main soprano in the court orchestra of Frederick II. In 1751 Benedetta Emilia Molteni married Johann Friedrich Agricola . She held the position at court until her husband's death in 1774.
