The Benedictine Abbey Rosans is a monastery of the Benedictine nuns in Rosans in Arrondissement of Gap , Hautes-Alpes department , in France and founded 1991st

history

The Abbey of Notre Dame de Fidélité in Jouques founded the nunnery Notre-Dame de Miséricorde ("Mercy of Mary") in 1991 in a mountain valley west of the village of Rosans , which was elevated to an abbey in 2002 . The monastery church was consecrated in 2005. Today the convention has 25 members.

The nearby village of Saint-André-de-Rosans was the site of the Cluniac priory of Saint-André-de-Rosans from the Middle Ages to the French Revolution , of which remains are still left (not to be confused with the Benedictine Abbey).
