Bengt Birgersson

Bengt Birgersson (* 1254 , † May 25, 1291 ) was a Swedish clergyman and bishop of Linköping and Duke of Finland .

Life

Birgersson was the youngest son of Birger Jarl and his wife Ingeborg Eriksdotter . He was first Archdeacon of Linköping Cathedral and later Chancellor under his brother Magnus Ladulås . Birgersson was made Duke of Finland in 1284 and elected Bishop of Linköping in 1286. He died of the plague in 1291 .
