Benjamin Crljenkovic

Benjamin "Benno" Crljenkovic (born March 3, 1975 ) is a former German football player .

career

Crljenkovic played for the Bremen Buccaneers until 1999, with whom he was champion of the northern season of the second division in his final year. The player used in the offensive line  went to the Hamburg Blue Devils in the highest German league, the GFL , in the run-up to the 2000 season . During his time in Hamburg, which initially lasted until the end of the game year 2004, Crljenkovic became German champions three times with the team (2001, 2002, 2003).

In 2005 and 2006 he played for Hamburg's arch-rivals Braunschweig Lions and won the German championship with the Lower Saxony in both years. The 1.86 meter tall Crljenkovic returned to Hamburg and in 2007 wore the colors of the Blue Devils again. At the same time he was part of the coaching staff of Weyhe Vikings (second division) in 2007 . Also in 2007 he took part in the World Cup with the German national team and reached third place. In 2008 he played for the Kiel Baltic Hurricanes and was German runner-up with the Fördestädtern. In the 2009 season he paused as a player due to back problems and took care of the offensive line as an assistant coach for the Kiel team. Crljenkovic returned to the field as a player and was back in the service of the Braunschweig Lions in the 2010 season. He went back to Kiel, where he suffered an injury in 2011 that put an end to his playing career. In 2011 he was also part of the coaching staff of the Bremen Firebirds regional league team.

Crljenkovic, nicknamed "Benno", was the head coach of the Ritterhude Badgers in 2012 and 2013 . In 2012 he led her to promotion to the regional league. In the 2018 season he was assistant trainer at the Bremerhaven Seahawks , where he was responsible for the offensive line. At the end of November 2018, he returned to the office of head coach in Ritterhude.
