Benjamin Meisnitzer

Benjamin Meisnitzer (* 1980 ) is a German Romanist .

Life

He studied Romance and German at the LMU Munich and at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa . After receiving his doctorate on the present tense as a narrative tense between temporality and aspectuality as a scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation , he was a lecturer in French and Portuguese linguistics at the LMU Munich from 2009 to 2010 and a research assistant for French, Spanish and Portuguese from 2010 to 2014 Linguistics. From 2014 to 2018 he was junior professor for Romance Linguistics (with an Ibero-Romance focus) inMainz . Since 2018 he has been teaching as a professor for Romance Linguistics with a focus on Hispanic and Lusitan Studies in Leipzig .

His focus is on language acquisition, language history and variety linguistics (French, Spanish and Portuguese), temporal semantics, modality, standardization research and variety linguistics, grammar theory and language acquisition research (L1 and L2).
