Benjamin Rough

Benjamin Raue (* 1982 in Soest ) is a German law scholar and professor at the University of Trier .

Life

After graduating from the Taunusgymnasium in Königstein im Taunus in 2001 and doing community service, Raue began studying law at the Bucerius Law School in 2002 , which he completed in 2007 with the first state examination in law. From 2007 to 2009 he worked as a research assistant for Haimo Schack at the University of Kiel . Raue completed his legal clerkship at the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court in Hamburg , which he completed in 2011 with the second state examination. In 2010 he was at Schack in Kiel with summa cum laude as a Dr. iur. been awarded a doctorate.

From 2011 to 2012 Raue worked as a lawyer in Hamburg. He then returned to the University of Kiel as a scientific assistant to Schack, and later to Joachim Jickeli , in order to devote himself to his habilitation. He graduated in 2015 and received the Venia legendi for the subjects civil law, copyright and industrial property protection, business law, IPR and comparative law. This was followed by Thomas Dreier's chair at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in 2015/16. Since August 2016, Raue has held the professorship for civil law, in particular information society law and intellectual property, at the University of Trier . This makes him the first graduate of the Bucerius Law School to obtain a professorship.
