Benno Ostertag

Benno Ostertag (born September 13, 1892 in Göppingen ; † April 7, 1956 in Stuttgart ) was a German lawyer and notary.

Career

Benno Ostertag came as the son of Joseph and Betty Ostertag, nee Hanauer, to the world. After attending secondary school, he studied at the universities of Munich, Geneva, Berlin and Tübingen from 1910 and received his doctorate in 1914. He was admitted to the bar in 1921 and as a notary in 1945.

After the end of the Second World War, Ostertag specialized in reparation issues .

He was chairman of the Israelitische Kultusgemeinde in Württemberg and from 1950 was a member of the first directorate of the Central Council of Jews in Germany .
