Benny Gebauer

Bertram "Benny" Gebauer (born September 26, 1939 in Altsattl ) is a German instrumentalist ( clarinet , saxophone , harmonica ) and composer ; he also worked under the pen names Jacques Romain and Joe Meiling .

Gebauer has received violin lessons since he started school ; From the age of twelve he learned the clarinet and performed with a youth orchestra. He first majored in clarinet at the Leopold Mozart Conservatory in Augsburg , and then went on to study composition at the University of Music and Theater in Munich . After touring with chamber music ensembles, he worked as a studio musician in Munich as a saxophone soloist from 1966. He presented albums in the field of jazz and easy listening , wrote for the film and classical commissioned compositions for all radio companies and has been a regular guest conductor of the SWF radio orchestra for 15 years since 1980.

His works have been awarded the Prix ​​de Jeunesse Musicale for chamber music and the European Broadcasting Union Prize for concert music.
