"Big Dog" Benny Henderson junior (born July 20, 1975 in Odessa , Texas ) is an American heavyweight boxer and boxing reporter.

Life

Benny Henderson Jr. is the only son of a Texas farming family. The American was involved in boxing in the USA from an early age. In high school , however, he was not accepted by the school's boxing team due to his excessive weight. After he graduated from high school in Overton , he was unable to find a job and became an alcoholic . However, after he found the connection to the Orthodox Church , he ended his alcohol addiction with a rehab and from then on engaged in US professional boxing. Today he is the founder of a famous internet boxing archive. He also runs an advertising agency in Texas and is a freelance journalist. On February 4, 2006, Benny Henderson Jr. started his long-awaited heavyweight boxing career.

Professional career

On February 4, 2006, Henderson's boxing career began with a fight against Ron Collins in Russellville, Arkansas . After just one minute and 33 seconds, the heavyweight Henderson knocked out his opponent.

On March 18, 2006 Benny Henderson rose in the title fight for the "Arkansas Superheavyweight Title" in the ring. His opponent Kenneth Knuckles (141 kg) was only making his debut fight. The two boxers brought a total weight of over 300 kilograms on the scales, with Henderson accounting for the majority of this mass at 163 kg. After just 45 seconds, the fight was over as Henderson pulled his opponent to the ground with several right hooks. The second win in the second fight in the "Heavyweight Slugout 2" event in Fort Smith (Arkansas) brought Benny Henderson junior the title win.

Benny Henderson junior made a name for himself in the US professional boxing world through his work as a freelance journalist. Today his friends include Eric Esch , Lennox Lewis , Mike Tyson , Don King and Lamon Brewster . The latter gave him the nickname "Big Dog". He is now also reporting from Germany for his internet box archive on the fights of Wladimir Klitschko and Nikolai Valujew .
