Berenice (also Bérénice ) is a female given name.

Origin and meaning

The name comes from the ancient Greek φερενίκη ( pherenike ), formed from φέρειν ( phérein , "bring") and νίκη ( níkē , "victory") and thus means "victory bringer". Berenice or Bernike is a Macedonian variant of the Greek meaning and has the same roots as Veronica .
