Beres (mythology)
Beres ( Greek Βέρης ) was the eponym of the Thracian city of Beres, which can possibly be identified with Beroia .
Theagenes (2nd century BC) wrote in his not preserved Macedonica that Beres was a son of Macedon and father of Mieza, Beroia and Olganos , eponyms of other Thracian cities. The Macedonica des Theagenes are only quoted in Stephanos of Byzantium .
