Bergman is a small impact crater on the far side of the moon . It lies on the crater floor of the Mendeleev Whale Plain , where it is connected to the north-western inner edge of the crater wall. To the south, the Moissan crater also touches the crater wall, while the Richards and Fischer craters are oriented towards the interior of Mendeleev to the northeast .

The crater is essentially bowl-shaped with an approximately circular rim. The western part of the crater interior is covered by a scree slope, so that a narrow, flat crater floor remains only on the eastern side.
