The reports on the History of Science (Subtitles History of Science and Humanities ) is a German-language history of science journal .
The journal publishes original articles on areas of the history of science and their connections to the theory of science , the humanities and humanities , the history of art and media studies . The focus is on epochs of modern times .
The journal appears with four issues per year, works with the peer-review process and has a registered impact factor . It is published in print by Wiley-VCH Verlag and online by Wiley-Interscience. It is electronically available in the Wiley Online Library.
Since January 2019 the magazine has been published by an editorial team consisting of Kärin Nickelsen (Munich) as director, Christian Joas (Copenhagen), Fabian Krämer (Munich) and Dominik Knaupp (Munich). The work of the editorial team is accompanied by a scientific advisory board (editorial board).
The Reports on the History of Science were founded in 1978 by the science historian Fritz Krafft and published by him until 2007. As a result, Cornelius Borck (Lübeck) took over the editing. During these years the journal acted as the official organ of the Society for the History of Science (GWG). Since the GWG was merged with the German Society for the History of Medicine, Science and Technology (DGGMNT) in the newly founded Society for the History of Science, Medicine and Technology (GWMT) in 2018, the reports have been continued as an independent journal.
