Berlebach at Photokina 2016

Berlebach Tripod Technology in Mulda is a Saxon manufacturer of tripods for photography, telescopes and surveying technology made of ash wood .

history

The company was founded in 1898 by Peter Otto Berlebach . The Hamburg export manual from 1906 shows that tripods were already being delivered to England at that time.

When Peter Otto Berlebach retired from the company in 1918, it was taken over by Dittmar, Biskaborn and Heisinger, three former Ernemann employees . It was not until 1972 that the family company was nationalized in the GDR and was henceforth called VEB Foto-Kino-Zubehör. The company supplied all kinds of tripods to the entire Eastern Bloc.

In 1990 the company was placed under trust management. After long negotiations, Wolfgang Fleischer, who had been a manager at Berlebach since 1962, was able to buy the company in 1993.

Berlebach first appeared at the Photokina in 1994 and has since developed into the leading manufacturer of wooden tripods, which are exported to over 40 countries around the world.

Because of their low-vibration design, Berlebach tripods are particularly valued by photographers with long, heavy telephoto lenses and amateur astronomers with telescopes.

Berlebach Tripod Report 422

Photo tripods

The Berlebach tripod series Report and UNI are offered with different modules, which, among other things, enable the tripod head to be tilted, so that inclinations can be compensated. Columns of different lengths are also available.

The Report series offers three tripods with 3-part tripod legs and 4 tripods with 2-part tripod legs that cover a maximum working height between 87 cm and 163 cm and weigh between 1.9 kg and 3.2 kg.

The UNI series offers a tripod with 3-part tripod legs and 3 tripods with 2-part tripod legs, which cover a maximum working height between 80 cm and 164 cm and weigh between 4.2 kg and 6.4 kg.

Mini, monopod, wall and car window stands are also offered.

Astro tripods

Berlebach produces several tripods for astronomy applications as a substructure for telescopes . Two tripods, the Report and the Uni, are based on the photo tripods and are designed for a load capacity of up to 25 kg and 60 kg respectively. There are also the PLANET, SKY and GRAVITON tripods, which have a load capacity of up to 120 kg, 140 kg and 220 kg, respectively.

EMC stands

Berlebach manufactures special EMC tripods that are used to measure electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). With these tripods, little or no metal is used to construct the tripods.

Other products

Bernbach also manufactures various tripod heads, astro chairs, mounts and adapters.
