The Berliner Abendblatt is a weekly advertising paper that was founded in Berlin in 1991 . With a circulation of 1.45 million copies and more than 20 local editions, it is one of the largest advertising papers in Europe. It has belonged to the Cologne-based DuMont media group since 2009 .

Editorial focus

The Berliner Abendblatt reports on the latest news from the city and is dedicated to the topics of local politics, engagement in the neighborhood, building projects and renovations, popular and top-class sport, environmental protection, economy, culture, transport, education and work. Every weekend, the local editions to numerous Berlin households in the “economically attractive core areas” of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, Friedrichshain, Hellersdorf, Hohenschönhausen, Köpenick, Kreuzberg, Lichtenberg, Marzahn, Mitte, Neukölln, Pankow, Prenzlauer Berg, Reinickendorf, Schöneberg, Spandau , Steglitz-Zehlendorf, Tempelhof, Tiergarten, Treptow, Weißensee and Wedding.

The Berliner Abendblatt appears for the first time on October 2, 1991, initially only in the East Berlin districts of Pankow / Weißensee, Mitte / Friedrichshain, Treptow / Köpenick and Marzahn / Hellersdorf. The Prenzlauer Berg and Lichtenberg / Hohenschönhausen issues followed in the same month. In 1996 the Berliner Abendblatt also presented itself in the former western part of the city with editions for Reinickendorf, Neukölln, Tempelhof, Spandau and Steglitz / Zehlendorf. Between 1996 and 2001 further local editions were added steadily. The publisher, which changed its name several times and now operates as BVZ Werbungzeitungen GmbH , has been delivering over 20 local editions to all Berlin districts since 2001 .

The publishing house BVZ Werbungzeitungen GmbH is a subsidiary of the Berlin publishing house , which was taken over in 2009 by the Cologne media group M. DuMont Schauberg . The media group Berliner Verlag , which also includes BVZ Werbungzeitungen GmbH , has been operating under the umbrella brand DuMont Berliner Verlag since April 2017 .

Location

The BVZ display newspapers GmbH has its headquarters in the Old Jacob Road 105 in Berlin-Kreuzberg . It was previously located on Karl-Liebknecht-Strasse on Alexanderplatz . The move to the Feratti building between Spittelmarkt and Moritzplatz took place in April 2017.
