Princely House, 1886

The Berliner Gewerbeschule was a school in Berlin .

It was founded in October 1824 in the Princely House at Kurstrasse 52/53. Just two years later, the school could be relocated to Niederwallstraße 12. Karl Friedrich von Klöden was appointed head of the Prussian Ministry of Education. He held this office until 1855, which is why the establishment was also called Kloedensche Gewerbeschule . Further headmasters were Friedrich Wilhelm Köhler (from 1856) and Wilhelm Gallenkamp (from 1861).

To relieve the burden, the Luisenstädtische Gewerbeschule was founded in 1865, because the Friedrichswerdersche Gewerbeschule was considered overcrowded with 655 students. In the middle of the 19th century, in many parts of the German Empire, industrial schools became secondary schools and grammar schools.

From 1874 it led as Friedrichswerder high school (official name from 1882) after nine years to the Abitur .

In 1924 she moved into a new building at Weinmeisterstraße 15. During the National Socialist era , it was renamed - like all high schools - Friedrichswerder High School for Boys .

The building was destroyed in the Second World War .
