The Bern-Neuenburg-Bahn ( BN ) is a former Swiss railway company. The Bern – Neuchâtel railway line operated by it connects Bern in an almost straight line via Gümmenen , Kerzers and Ins with Neuchâtel and is therefore also called the Direct Line .

The route of the Bern-Neuchâtel railway was opened on July 1, 1901. Shortly before, on 15./20. June 1901, an operating contract was concluded with the Thunerseebahn , which provided for joint administration and management. It was electrified in two stages between 1923 and 1928.

In June 1997, the BN merged with the Spiez-Erlenbach-Zweisimmen-Bahn , the Gürbetal-Bern-Schwarzenburg-Bahn and the Berner Alpenbahn-Gesellschaft Bern-Lötschberg-Simplon to form the BLS Lötschbergbahn .
