Bernard Py

Bernard Py (* 1939 in La Chaux-de-Fonds ; † October 1, 2012 ) was a Swiss Romance scholar , Hispanist , sociolinguist and foreign language teacher .

life and work

Py did his doctorate with the thesis La interrogación en el español hablado de Madrid (Brussels 1971), was a Spanish teacher at the grammar school and became professor of applied linguistics and head of the Center de linguistique appliquée at the University of Neuchâtel (retired 2002).

Py was best known for his research on bilingualism .
