Bernard Rooney
Bernard Rooney OSB (born September 26, 1934 in Melbourne ) is Abbot Emeritus of New Norcia .
Life
Bernard Rooney joined the Congregation of Benedictine in, put the profession on March 7, 1959, and received on 19 March 1964, the priestly ordination . Paul VI appointed him superior of Kalumburu on September 21, 1971, and stepped down from office in 1980. He was elected Abbot of New Norcia on March 19, 1974, and the Pope confirmed the election on March 31, 1974. Rooney resigned from office on June 15, 1980.
