Live and act

All knowledge about Storace's life comes from the foreword to his collection published in Venice in 1664, under the full title, Selva di varie compositioni d'intavolatura per cimbalo ed organo ove si contengono capricci, e partite sopra diverse aria, toccate, canzoni, e recercari, correnti, gagliarde, balletti, ciacone, passagagli sopra varie toni e nel fine una pastorale . Here he pretends to be the vice conductor of the Senate of Messina .

The collection, in which he is based on the models of Girolamo Frescobaldi , consists of numerous variations on well-known dances and melodies of the era, including the Passacaille , Ciacona , Passamezzo , Pastorale , Romanesca , as well as on the themes of La Spagnoletta and La Monica .
