Act

Grabsch, who was a weightlifting trainer during the GDR era, was heavily involved in anabolic steroids experiments on underage weightlifters in the 1980s as part of the Lathan series of experiments . Four of his former protégés, who later suffered from severe health disorders such as depression , acne , erectile dysfunction , kidney colic and gynecomastia , filed criminal charges against Grabsch on suspicion of bodily harm through doping in the early 1990s.

Grabsch now works as a regional trainer for the Federal Association of German Weightlifters (BVDG) in Saxony, again with young people, among other things. As a result of the report of the special doping test project group of the Federal Ministry of the Interior, it became known in August 2007 that a number of GDR trainers exposed to doping, among them Grabs, had benefited indirectly from public funding.
