Bernd Motte

Bernd Motte (born January 10, 1956 ) is a former German basketball coach . He was the national coach of the German women's national team and led BTV Wuppertal to four German championship titles.

career

In 1981 the PTSV Wuppertal team was promoted to the women's basketball league under Motte's direction . In 1989 Motte led the BTV Wuppertal women's team to win the German championship for the first time and was named “Trainer of the Year”. In 1990 he was the coach of the men's Bundesliga club Brandt Hagen for a few months . In 1994, 1995 and 1996 BTV Wuppertal became German champions under Motte's leadership, and he and the team also won the German cup competition five times . In 1996 there was even a triple triumph from the German championship, the German cup and the European championship .

Motte became national coach and led the German women's national team in 1997 to win the bronze medal at the European Championship. In 1998, in addition to his duties as national coach, he took over the coaching position at the women's Bundesliga club Aschaffenburg. As a national coach, he left in 2001.
