Bernd Raebel

Bernd Raebel (born July 28, 1948 in Buxtehude ) is a German lawyer and judge at the Federal Court of Justice .

Career

Raebel successfully completed his legal education in 1975 . He then worked in the higher justice service of the State of Hamburg from 1976. A time as a trial reporter, during which he was employed by both the Hamburg public prosecutor and the Hamburg district court , was followed in 1979 by the appointment of judge at the regional court. There he was subsequently an assessor and sometimes deputy chairman in various civil chambers. During this time he worked from 1983 to 1986 as a result of a secondment at the Federal Ministry of Justice . From 1989 he was seconded to the Federal Court of Justice (BGH) for three years . After moving to the Ministry of Justice of the State of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in 1993, he was appointed Ministerial Councilor the following year . In addition to heading civil law units, he also took on the role of deputy head of the legal and constitutional department from mid-1995. In July 1999 he was elected as a judge at the BGH, just like his colleague Wolfgang Wellner . He took up this position on December 1, 1999. At the BGH he was since July 1, 2000 the IX.
