Bernd Zorn (born July 10, 1952 in Stendal ) is a German engineer and master mechanic.

Life

From 1975 he studied mechanical engineering at the engineering school for mechanical engineering in Magdeburg, specializing in technology in the processing industry and graduated in 1979 with a degree in mechanical engineering. In addition, he obtained the title of master mechanic and master precision mechanic in 1981. On January 1, 1981 he became the owner of the company "Gerhard Zorn - Mechanische Werkstätten Stendal", which has been operating under the name Zorn Instruments since 2008 .

Bernd Zorn took an active part in the rebuilding of the Magdeburg Chamber of Crafts in 1990 and was a member of the Presidium there for many years. Since 2008 he has been a member of the general assembly of the Magdeburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where he is active in the building committee, industry committee and regional committee. In the same year he became a senator in the Federal Association of Medium-Sized Enterprises. He was also a member of the board and chief master of the metal construction guild of the Magdeburg Chamber of Crafts. Zorn is a founding member of the “Altmärkische Bürgerstiftung Hansestadt Stendal” and ambassador for the Hanseatic city of Stendal. He also acts as a commercial judge at the Chamber for Commercial Matters of the Stendal Regional Court.

Bernd Zorn has received several awards for his entrepreneurial activities and the innovations of his company Zorn Instruments as well as for his voluntary work. In 2011 he received the Federal Cross of Merit . In 2012, Zorn was allowed to register in the Golden Book of the Hanseatic City of Stendal.
